Shire software addresses the no-nonsense needs and expectations of technical and engineering professionals – the individuals who keep wheels turning and on whose diligence product quality, service delivery and people safety ultimately depends. The practical requirements and wishlists of these hands-on users have shaped our software’s form and functionality.
Founded in 1982, Shire Systems is one of the oldest established PC-based business software companies in the world and a pioneer in the development of asset management systems. Our original mission was to trail-blaze the development of business software for use with DOS-based personal computers - introduced to the world in 1981 courtesy of IBM and Bill Gates. Initially we specialised in the supply of bespoke systems, but our work with blue chip manufacturers soon led us to develop commercial off-the-shelf software applications for managing asset maintenance. We subsequently added further products to aid the management and assurance of health and safety in the workplace. All our products are continuously improved. New features are being continually added to satisfy the evolving needs of our system users in an ever-changing world. We use the Volere model for ‘user requirements’ gathering and system specification to ensure our software applications hit the spot and delight our user community.
Shire attained the BS EN ISO 9001:1994 quality standard accreditation in January 2001. In 2002, Shire was among the very first organisations to receive accreditation in terms of the updated, process-based standard BS EN ISO 9001:2000. Shire achieved Microsoft Partnership status in 2005 and became a Microsoft Gold Partner in 2007. The use of Shire software is pervasive throughout the UK’s manufacturing and processing sectors. Our huge customer base and consistent track record of achievement means you can be assured of our capability and dependability. Software price leadership and support that’s second to none - why search further? Why pay more?
